South Eastern Gazette

The Library is now providing access to the British Newspaper Archive resource the South Eastern Gazette 1852-1912 Archive.
Launched in 1846 as the Maidstone Gazette, the Gazette became the South Eastern in 1852 - a major regional title covering much of the South-East of England from East Hampshire through Surrey and Sussex to South Essex and parts of London, before being merged into the Kent Messenger after World War One.

The archive provides a fascinating insight into Kent's leading role in the Great War, World War II (especially the Battle of Britain) and will prove an invaluable tool for anyone interested in the period.
