Psychology Databases - Trial

The Library is currently running trials for two American Psychological Association databases.  PsycCRITIQUES includes a searchable database of more than 38,000 reviews, dating back to 1956, plus tables of contents for recent weekly releases. More than 900 reviews are published annually.  

Subject coverage includes:-

  • Applied psychology
  • Communication systems
  • Developmental psychology
  • Educational psychology
  • Experimental human and animal psychology
  • Personality
  • Psychological and physical disorders
  • Physiological psychology and neuroscience
  • Professional personnel and issues
  • Psychometrics and statistics

While PsycTESTS provides bibliographic, plus full text and multimedia of psychological tests from the early 1900s to the present. Test records include descriptive summaries of the test and its development and administration, mostly drawn from articles in peer-reviewed journals or books, with downloadable tests. 75% of the test records contain the actual test or test items.

  • Developmental measures
  • Scales for beliefs, Relationships, or expectancies
  • Aggression, coping, or functional status questionnaires
  • Racial and ethnic identity scales
  • Resilience, anger response, or substance abuse inventories
  • Physical health related assessments
  • Personality assessments
  • Educational measures
  • Neuropsychological assessments
  • Aptitude and achievement measures

These trials will run until 19 March 2017.
