Downloading some e-Books...

Some of you may have noticed on Dawsonera that you are not able to download some e-Books anymore.  This is clearly shown on the Dawsonera page by text in red:

We know that this is a popular feature, and also that it applies to a number of our most heavily-used e-Books.

Unfortunately this is a decision that has been taken by one publisher, Pearson, over which we have no control.  We are going to look for alternatives for some of these titles, but for now the download function has been removed.

EBSCO links from SOLAR

We're pretty sure they below problem is resolved.  Please let us know if that's not the case : library-eresources@salford.ac.uk

From off campus, article level links to EBSCO don't seem to be working at the moment.  I've asked EBSCO to look into this, but whilst we're waiting I recommend :

  1. Search for the journal title in SOLAR, follow the View It link, login and then browse the volumes and issues to the article you want
  2. Go the main EBSCO page here, select all databases, then search for the article title you want.
Sorry for the inconvenience of this.  I'll let you know as soon as it's fixed.

Reaxys

Reaxys is now working again.

There's more information on how to access this resource from both on and off campus here : http://www.salford.ac.uk/library/access-to-e-resources/library-databases/reaxys/_nocache

Salford users are not currently able to login to Reaxys.

We have contacted the supplier of this resource and asked them to resolve this as soon as possible.
